Create Digital Slideshows

A digital slide show helps you to produce presentations in a creative and smart way. You can convert a set of individual photos in a lively viewing experience. You will be able to store a slide show on the hard disk, send e-mails to your friends, and archive to a CD/DVD. You can come out of the monotonous clicks for opening one individual photo in one time by creating a digital slide show.

There are various slide show programs available for creating a dynamic slideshow. You can design a digital slide show by following few simple steps.

First, you need to save all the photographs or digital images in a single folder in your computer. Select the images with comparatively small sizes. Assign a name to each of the images and give a number in the order in which you wish the images to come into view.

Now, open some program like PowerPoint to turn these images into a slide show. You must prepare a storyboard that will let you plan the sequence in which the images are to appear. Open a blank slide-show presentation. Selecting some pleasing background that will enhance the beaty of the images. You can take help of the templates available with the program or can import customized backgrounds prepared in some other applications.

From "Slide Show" menu, select 'Slide Transition' that opens an interface, which permits you to customize the slide transition style. Slide transition will bring the transition effect in the slide show and will move from one photo to next one. You will get many options of slide transitions like "wipe right," "wipe left," "box in," "box out," "checkerboard," etc. Here you can select the speed of your slide transition also like, fast, medium, or slow. Now make a title slide for introducing your slide show. For this you need to click on "title slide" icon, and type your text for the title slide with your preferred font size.

Next step would be to import the images into the slide show. Select the "Picture" and "From File" command from the insert menu and locate the folder where you have saved your images. Now just go through the list of the images and add one after another. You can have a quick overview of the sequence of the slide show. Select "Slide Sorter" under "View" menu. Here you will be able to see the thumbnails of all the slides. The slides will come into view with the selected background in your specified sequence.

At this point you have completed creating your slide show. You can control your slide show by manually clicking or setting it in automatic slide show with specific intervals. You can view the accomplished slide show from the "View Show." menu item. You can add music to your slide show to make it even more appealing.
