Printing Digital Pictures- Its Easy And Fast!

Photography is a very interesting hobby and if you are a professional or amateur photographer you will want to freeze the beautiful scenarios that you get to experience eternally. But, how do you capture them? These days, you don't have to go to a photo studio to get them printed. There are some amazing software available in the market that enable you to take prints of the picture of professional standards. You can print some beautiful pictures by using Windows XP. All you need to do is take some amazing snaps with your digital camera and upload them on your system that has Windows XP as the OS. Now, you just need to fine-tune the print quality of the pictures to get some mind-blowing effect.

The first step that you should put toward enhancing the quality of your picture is to set it to a higher resolution. In the picture editing options, you should always choose the maximum size and the best quality available for the image. The higher the resolution, the better detailed and clearer your pictures will be. As a general rule, for printing images of objects you can choose a resolution of 2 megapixels. If you want to print pictures of larger dimensions, let us say, about 8 inches ? 10 inches, for example, calendars or portraits it is better to opt for a 3-megapixel resolution.

The next thing that you should do is to save the image file in the quality wise best format possible. The JPEG format may be the most popular one for transferring images over the internet but when it comes to picture quality the TIFF format is seen to be of superior grade. The images saved in the TIFF format are found to be of really good finish. Of course, when you want to e-mail these pictures you can always convert them to the JPEG format. But for printing purposes the TIFF format is the best.

There are wonderful photo editing software available in the market these days with which you can make your images more colorful by manipulating the color, contrast, brightness, etc. You can look flawless in your images by using image-editing tools to remove blemishes.

The next thing that you should do is to set your printer options to yield the best results possible. One way to get top quality images is to use the latest printer drivers. Printers with higher dpi (dots per inch) specifications, let's say 600 ? 600 dpi, are known to print the superior quality prints. The highest color quality resolution should be chosen. You should be careful to set the paper option to the correct type so that your picture quality does not suffer because of incompatibility between the paper used and the paper-type option selected for the printer.
